My name is Jason Diebolt and I grew up in Carmel, Indiana with my father, mother and twin sister. My family has been a great model of the faith for me, and they have given me many opportunities to pray and grow in my faith. My family was the first to form me, and they have allowed me to be open to God and to pray daily. My home parish is Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. During my time at OLMC, I have had many opportunities to study and learn at the school as well as give back to the parish and the community. Through these formative years of volunteering at my home parish, I have been able to pray and discern where God is calling me in my life. I have realized how blessed I am to part of a community that faithfully serves God with a generous heart. Learn more about Jason in the bulletin for May 31.
It is a great honor for me to be with you all this summer. Originally, I am a son of St. Boniface Parish in Lafayette. Along with my three siblings (Michaela, George, and Nick), I went through the Lafayette Catholic Schools and eventually on to Purdue University. While at Purdue, I studied Electrical Engineering. Even though much of my focus was on studies during those years, it was also during that time that the Lord began to reveal to me His own desire for me to be His priest. Find out more about Elliot in the bulletin from May 31.
It’s hard to believe how quickly the past four months have gone by. Though the semester turned out quite differently from what I had expected, I will always be grateful for the time I was able to spend in Benton County. I was continually humbled by the hospitality you all extended to me, which truly made me feel at home. Though last Sunday was my last official day at the parishes, please be assured that you all will be in my daily prayers. It was an honor and a privilege to be able to work, teach, and pray with so many different groups at the parishes and to become enmeshed into such a great community. I came into this internship looking for a time where I could discern a call to the priesthood in a deeper way, and I can say that this time was one of the most formative of any semester I’ve had in seminary, which is thanks to all of you and Fr. Haan. I look forward to coming back to St. Charles and St. Patrick at some point over the summer. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! Seminarian Matt Jakupco
